Gastro Health seeks a Remote Full-Time Insurance Collections Specialist to support our team. You will verify patient benefits, obtain authorizations, and apply billing knowledge in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of related experience or combination of education/experience.
• OH Insurance experience preferred.
• Healthcare/claims environment experience is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology used in insurance financial clearance, medical collections and billing (CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS).
• Experience with OH Insurance Payers and obtaining prior authorizations.
• Ability to explain patient benefits and determine if an insurance policy requires a referral.
• Previous experience with remote work.

Responsibilities

• Meet production: 100% quantity and 90% quality benchmarks.
• Maintain denial/rejection rate <10% and verify benefits and authorizations.
• Manage schedule to verify all insurance authorization requirements, benefits and patient demographics.
