Job summary

Gastro Health is seeking a Remote Full-Time Insurance Collections Specialist to join our team. You will collaborate with a network of providers and support staff to ensure accurate and timely claim processing and patient communication.

The role emphasizes no weekends, consistent hours, and opportunities for advancement within a growing GI-focused practice. Strong knowledge of insurance terminology and payer rules is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of related experience or equivalent.
• OH Insurance experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare/claims environments is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology in insurance financial clearance and billing.

Responsibilities

• Meet production benchmarks: 100% quantity and 90% quality.
• Maintain denial/rejection rate below 10% and verify benefits and authorizations.
• Verify all insurance authorization requirements, benefits, and patient demographics within the required timeframes.

Gastro Health is seeking a Remote Full-Time Insurance Collections Specialist to join our team!

Duties you will be responsible for:

• Production: Meets Quantity (100%) and Quality Required Benchmark (90% - To be evaluated through audits)
• Denial and rejection rate of less than 10% to demonstrate capability to effectively verify patient benefits and obtain required authorizations. (Effectiveness to be monitored in Visiquate and Waystar systems)
• Able to effectively manage assigned schedule to include verification of all insurance authorization requirements, benefits and patient demographics at the designated days out timeframe.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required. Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required.
• 1 year of related experience, or any combination of education or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
• OH Insurance experience preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare environment or a healthcare claims environment is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology utilized in insurance financial clearance, medical collections and billing (CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS).
• Previous Experience with OH Insurance Payers and obtaining prior authorizations.
• Able to give patient benefit information regarding surgical GI procedures
• Able to determine if an insurance policy requires an insurance referral
• Previous experience with remote work
