Job summary

Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Insurance Collections Specialist in Miami to join our growing team. This role offers consistent hours, Mon-Fri, with no weekends or evenings and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include liaising with providers, patients, and payers to ensure accurate charges, maintaining payer communications, and following company collection policies. Candidates should have 2+ years of insurance collections experience and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in insurance collections.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS terminology used in medical billing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office products.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between providers, patients, and payers to ensure accurate charges and up-to-date records.
• Maintain communication with insurance carriers and third-party payers until accounts are paid.
• Negotiate payment of current and past-due accounts via phone and written correspondence.
• Update patient account information as needed.
• Identify payer denial trends and report patterns to supervisor.
• Run monthly aging reports to identify accounts needing follow-up.
• Manage daily work-list for assigned insurances and apply company collection policies.
• Report coding-related denials to the Coding Specialist.
• Assist with special projects and verify medical eligibility.
