Job summary

Mindful Therapy Group is seeking an experienced Insurance A/R Specialist to independently resolve complex insurance balances, denials, and claim-processing issues for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers. The role is fully remote with Washington Medicaid experience preferred and a focus on operational denial management and payer outreach.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in medical insurance A/R follow-up, claims resolution, and experience with AdvancedMD.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of direct medical insurance A/R follow-up and claim-resolution experience in a healthcare billing environment.
• Experience handling commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed Medicaid claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication with payer representatives, providers, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in practice-management systems and payer portals; prior behavioral health billing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently work outstanding insurance A/R focusing on denied, rejected, and aged claims (120+ days).
• Analyze denial reason codes, payer correspondence, eligibility, and authorization requirements to determine next steps.
• Submit and track corrected claims, reprocessed claims, reconsiderations, appeals, and required documentation.
• Navigate payer portals and communicate with payer representatives to obtain claim status and resolution commitments.
• Update providers and internal teams on claim status, documentation needs, and action items.
• Post insurance payments and adjustments, ensuring alignment with remittance advice and resolution outcomes.
