The University of Iowa Health Care in Coralville, IA seeks a part-time Inpatient Medical Coder (Coding Representative) to review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures for hospital inpatient stays. Remote eligibility is available after training; initial on-site or virtual training will occur.

Responsibilities include meeting productivity and accuracy targets, identifying improvement opportunities, and generating reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hospital inpatient ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding.
• Bachelor's in HIM or equivalent with professional certification.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Review medical records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient stays.
• Adopt and incorporate initiatives to improve compliance and reduce risks.
• Prepare work lists and reports; communicate with providers and staff.
