Jobgether SRL, on behalf of a partner, seeks a Medical Coder/Professional Fee Coder - Inpatient based in the United States. This 100% remote role supports professional fee coding for Veterans Affairs medical centers across Georgia and Alabama.

You will code physician, provider, nursing home, and surgical services for hospitalized patients with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. The role requires CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS knowledge and strict adherence to NCCI edits and teaching physician

Qualifications

• Active CPC, CCS-P, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA credential.
• At least 2 years of recent professional fee coding experience (inpatient E/M and surgical procedures).
• Completion of an accredited coding/Health Information Management program.
• Formal education in anatomy/physiology, medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of CPT surgical guidelines, global periods, modifiers, NCCI edits, and professional fee coding principles.
• Experience with VistA/CPRS or similar surgical coding systems is a plus.
• Ability to interpret complex clinical documentation and apply accurate coding judgment.

Responsabilités

• Code inpatient professional and nursing home services using CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS.
• Code surgical cases with global package rules and add-on codes.
• Assign E/M categories/levels for inpatient and consultation services.
• Apply NCCI edits and appropriate modifiers (24, 25, 26, 51, 57, 59, 79).
• Follow teaching physician documentation requirements and supervising practitioner rules.
• Review CPRS notes and update provider info in PCE or surgery package as needed.
• Enter coding data into VistA using the encoder.
• Flag records with missing/unsigned/incomplete documentation.
• Re-review codes after questions or denials and provide support.
• Maintain minimum 95% coding accuracy and meet turnaround goals.
• Adhere to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA training.
