Qualifications

• Five years of inpatient hospital coding experience.
• Experience in level 1 trauma facility/academic teaching facility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-PCS coding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses/procedures requiring codes.
• Assign ICD-10 codes and DRGs to inpatient records for reimbursement and compliance.
• Query physicians when documentation is insufficient or unclear.
• Maintain accuracy and productivity while minimizing coding errors.
• Adhere to AHIMA Standards and official coding guidelines.
