You will review records, ensure accurate DRG assignment, and mentor staff while maintaining high-quality standards and productivity in a healthcare billing environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and abstracting.
• MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures.
• Familiarity with CPT/HCPCS/HCC/HEDIS CAT II and modifier codes.

Responsibilities

• Assigns appropriate principal and secondary diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters to ensure correct DRG assignment.
• Maintain 95% accuracy on quality reviews and meet productivity standards.
• Abstract data from medical records and enter according to Parkland guidelines.
• Coordinate with physicians and nurses to clarify records and obtain missing information.
