Job summary

e4health is seeking a Part Time/PRN Inpatient Auditor to perform QA reviews and training for inpatient coders. The role ensures accurate data abstraction in client EMR systems following ICD-10-CM/PCS, UHDDS, and CMS guidelines, with POA checks and provider query reviews.

The auditor will report quality results, track educational opportunities, respond to client needs, and provide training and support to teams at client sites.

Qualifications

• AHIMA credential required.
• Minimum 5 years coding experience; 3 years inpatient coding in acute care.
• Recommend minimum 3 years Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience.
• Minimum 3+ years auditing experience preferred.
• Must be proficient at ICD-10-PCS coding.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled quality assurance reviews for both internal teams and external client organizations.
• Conduct onboarding audits and training for newly hired inpatient coders.
• Deliver training sessions and educational feedback to coders, including those at client sites.
• Communicate quality issues and audit findings to management and client contacts.
• Assist in drafting, implementing, and monitoring quality improvement action plans for coders.
• Maintain reports and accuracy rates for coders and clients.
• Respond to client QA needs and inquiries as directed by management.
• Provide educational sessions on error trends to coders and client teams.
• Notify management of compliance concerns or incidents.
