Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Coding-related certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• 3 years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of evaluation and management coding required.

Responsibilities

• Performs internal coding reviews, audits, and trend monitoring per the Coding Compliance Plan.
• Presents coding education to staff and leadership; supports SMEs responsibilities.
• Responds to coding questions and reviews physician queries for appropriateness.
• Reviews coded claims data in response to denials and service requests with thorough rationale.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Learns and applies coding/auditing expertise across multiple medical/surgical specialties.

Education

3 years of relevant experience in coding (strong E/M knowledge)
