Job summary

Healthcare Provider is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder for a fully remote contract to support a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment. This role focuses on inpatient coding across complex cases, including NICU and transplants, with CCS certification preferred.

Qualified candidates will have at least three years of inpatient coding experience, proficiency with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder, and a background in academic medical centers or trauma facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered.
• Experience with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder.
• Experience in academic medical center or trauma facility preferred.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across specialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, NICU, and other complex inpatient cases.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes per organizational, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations.
