Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Manager Information Security Engineer to lead IoMT/IoT security and data protection programs in a hybrid/remote setting in MN or DC. The role drives risk reduction, governance, and operational improvements across shared services healthcare environments.

You will manage DLP, information protection, insider risk, and an insider threat program, partnering with security, privacy, and IT stakeholders to meet HIPAA and NIST controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience in an enterprise environment.
• 2+ years implementing or managing DLP, Information Protection, or Insider Risk capabilities.
• 1+ years in leadership or team lead roles mentoring security professionals.
• 1+ years with connected device security, IoMT, IoT, or healthcare tech security.

Responsibilities

• Lead Connected Device Security (IoMT/IoT) and Data Protection & Insider Risk teams with strategic roadmaps.
• Standardize deployment of DLP, Information Protection, and Insider Risk across healthcare environments.
• Create repeatable deployment frameworks and runbooks to prevent drift and ensure monitoring.
• Design and mature an Insider Threat Program with governance and case management.
• Oversee risk-based Connected Device Security for medical devices and networks.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and metrics to measure control effectiveness and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Legal, HR, Compliance, Privacy, and IT for risk alignment.
• Ensure alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, HITRUST.
• Use AI tools to streamline workflows and analytics across data protection and device security.
• Evaluate trends and tools to inform solution design and innovation.
