Job summary

Blue Engine is building a network of independent consultants to support our work across the United States. Consultants may contribute to professional learning, coaching, and strategic advising with project-based scopes.

Engagements range from a single deliverable or session to multi-week programs; work is typically remote with travel as needed, and compensation is defined per scope of work.

Qualifications

• Strong candidates will generally demonstrate deep expertise in at least one of the areas identified above.
• A track record of high-quality work and measurable impact on student outcomes, educator practice, organizational capacity, and/or student experience.
• Experience working with schools, districts, state education agencies, or charter networks.
• Ability to build trusting, productive relationships with stakeholders across roles, backgrounds, and identities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills adapted to different audiences and contexts.
• Ability to work independently, manage deliverables and timelines, and communicate proactively about progress or potential barriers.
• Responsiveness to feedback and willingness to participate in collaborative design, preparation, calibration, and reflection.
• Alignment with Blue Engine's mission and commitment to expanding access to grade-level learning for students historically marginalized.

Responsibilities

• Internalize, contextualize, and facilitate professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, and school, district, or state leaders.
• Adapt existing Blue Engine content to partner context while maintaining the goals and integrity of the learning experience.
• Prepare, calibrate, and reflect with the Blue Engine project team to strengthen delivery and respond to participant feedback.
• Provide coaching for teachers, instructional coaches, and school or system leaders.
• Support educators in using data, high-quality instructional materials, and inclusive practices to increase students' access to grade-level learning.
