Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Incident Response Senior Manager to lead end-to-end cybersecurity incident response efforts. You will coordinate across SOC, forensics, DLP, cloud security, and client teams, acting as Incident Commander during critical incidents.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in incident management and 3+ years in leadership, with strong crisis communication and executive-facing skills. This is a remote US-based role with a focus on high-impact incidents.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in incident management or cybersecurity operations.
• 3+ years in leadership or incident response lead role.
• Ability to independently lead incident command during critical incidents.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional incident response teams.
• Expertise in incident response methodologies, escalation, and crisis communications.

Responsibilities

• Act as Incident Commander; triage severity and assemble response teams.
• Make real-time containment and escalation decisions during high-severity incidents.
• Own end-to-end incident response across SOC, forensics, DLP, cloud security, legal, and clients.
• Coordinate multi-domain security functions to ensure timely responses.
• Lead incident communications including war room updates and executive briefings.
