Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Incident Response Senior Manager to drive end-to-end incident response efforts within a global cyber security program. You will coordinate across SOC, forensics, DLP, cloud security, legal and client teams, making autonomous decisions during high-severity incidents and leading communications with executives and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes leadership, incident command, and strategic improvements to response workflows, with a remote-friendly model for qualified U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of incident management, cybersecurity operations, or related field.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or incident response lead capacity.
• Ability to independently assume incident command during critical/high-severity incidents.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional response teams across multiple cybersecurity disciplines.
• Expertise in incident response methodologies, escalation management, and crisis communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with technical and executive audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end response activities for cybersecurity incidents, coordinating across SOC, forensics, DLP, cloud security, legal, compliance, and client teams.
• Lead incident communications including war room updates, executive briefings, and client-facing notifications.
• Assume Incident Commander role, triage severity, assemble response teams, and initiate SOPs.
• Orchestrate multi-domain security functions to ensure timely response activities.
• Provide autonomous real-time containment, escalation, and communication decisions during high-severity incidents.
