Job summary

Leidos is seeking a platform engineer to design, deploy, and optimize enterprise Kubernetes clusters supporting AI workloads for mission customers. The role is based on-site at Bethesda, requiring collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams and adherence to federal security standards.

You will implement IaC using Terraform, Salt, Ansible, and scripting languages, while ensuring scalable, secure pipelines and automation across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 5+ years in Platform or System Engineering.
• Strong Linux expertise (RHEL/Ubuntu/Oracle Linux/Rocky).
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
• Hands-on Docker container management.
• Experience with AI/ML workflow orchestration (Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Proficient with RESTful APIs for automation.
• DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II certs; Level III acceptable (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISSP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Kubernetes Cluster Engineering: design, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Infrastructure as Code: IaC using Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python.
• Collaborate with development teams to design secure, automated pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Troubleshoot complex systems across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Compliance & Documentation: maintain technical docs, architecture specs, and Linux best practices; support ATO and federal security standards.
