Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Virtual Intervention Specialist to provide individualized academic and behavioral support to students with disabilities through a virtual model, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams. The role includes IEP management, progress monitoring, and adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities include delivering live one-on-one and small-group lessons, preparing plans based on IEP goals, and communicating with parents daily.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio State Board of Education Intervention Specialist license: Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive, or applicable licensure recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs.
• Proficiency with technology and virtual instructional platforms.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned virtual lessons either one-on-one or in small groups; prepare daily lesson plans and activities aligned to IEP goals and behavioral needs.
• Write, review, and implement IEPs, behavioral plans, and academic accommodations.
• Monitor student progress and analyze performance data; adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with program staff and related service providers to support student success and develop a transdisciplinary approach.
• Maintain secure, accurate student records; prepare and submit required reports.
• Administer standardized tests and interpret results; administer alternate assessments when appropriate.
• Attend virtual meetings and travel on-site for state testing or school events as required.
• Communicate daily with parents/guardians regarding academic and social growth.
• Maintain effective classroom management and document/report significant behaviors.
• Coordinate schedules and data collection with onsite educational aide; assist with IEP/behavior goal implementation.
• Provide clear guidance to educational aide regarding accommodations and data procedures.
• Collect data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform improvements.
