Job summary

Optum is seeking an IO Engineer in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to design, implement, and operate IAM solutions including SSO, MFA, and CIAM. The role supports the Endpoint Operations IAM team, mentors colleagues, and coordinates across architects, developers, and trainers.

Remote work is allowed within the U.S., with in-office requirements in certain locations. You will drive security, compliance, and operational excellence across authentication and provisioning, while building robust

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in IT or related field or 8 years of equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Environments, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects.
• 2+ years in cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS): Microsoft Azure/Entra, Amazon, etc.
• Experience with SSO, Modern Authentication Methods, MFA.
• Working knowledge of IP networking, Internet, DNS.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 Rev 5 IAM requirements and NIST 800-63.
• Available for on-call as needed; US based.

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements and design, implement and operate identity solutions.
• Act as a technical resource to resolve problems or issues.
• Administer IAM platforms and internal IAM-related applications.
• Mentor others in IAM; document data flows, security measures, and daily operations.
• Serve as SME during audits and vendor engagements.
• Resolve incidents and service requests; maintain IAM SLAs/SLOs.
• Develop and maintain IAM reporting to monitor performance.
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain IAM applications including auth and account provisioning.
• Analyze business processes and automate where applicable; maintain centralized docs.
