Job summary

Kraft Heinz is seeking a Senior Manager, State Government Affairs to advance policy priorities at the state level across a defined region. You will execute legislative strategies, manage relationships with lawmakers and stakeholders, and collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, R&D, Supply Chain, ESG, and Communications teams.

You will draft position statements, coordinate testimony, and support coalition-building, while supervising outside consultants and staying aligned with corporate policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; translate policy developments into business insights.
• Solid project management; manage multiple priorities and workstreams.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage government affairs activities for an assigned group of states in alignment with broader state and federal advocacy strategies.
• Serve as a state lobbyist in priority states; draft and negotiate bill language, support sponsor engagement, and coordinate testimony.
• Develop bipartisan relationships with state legislators, executive branch staff, and committee members; support engagement plans.
• Prepare position statements, regulatory comments, briefing materials, and executive talking points as needed.
• Represent Kraft Heinz in state rulemaking processes and external forums.
• Build and maintain coalitions with other companies, trade associations, and aligned organizations to advance policy goals.
• Monitor state legislative/regulatory activity; summarize developments and provide timely updates with next steps.
• Support management of outside consultants and contract lobbyists; coordinate work plans and budgets.
• Partner with Legal, Regulatory, R&D, Supply Chain, ESG, Commercial, HR, and Communications teams to support issue management.
