Bertrand Fox Elliot Osman + Wenzel is a California public entity defense firm seeking an Associate Attorney (1-7 years) to join our litigation team. You will handle a diverse range of cases in state and federal court, requiring strong research and writing skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The position is flexible to remote or hybrid work; some attorneys are in the office daily while others work remotely.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Juris Doctor.
• Admitted to the California Bar.
• 0-7 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities.
• Trial experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage case load with minimal supervision
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies
• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials
• Communicate and collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently
• Maintain positive client relationships regarding case assessment, investigation, discovery and litigation developments
