Kissinger Legal Search is assisting a growing Southern California litigation boutique in hiring a remote Litigation Associate with 3–8 years of experience. This role calls for a strong writer and hands-on litigator who can shoulder real responsibility on partner cases.

You will handle discovery, drafting and motions, appearances at hearings, depositions, and developing persuasive briefs on public entity, civil rights and employment defense matters.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of California civil litigation experience.
• Excellent writing skills required.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, law and motion, and court hearings.
• Public entity, law enforcement or employment defense experience is a plus.
• J.D. and active California Bar admission.

This is a role for a strong writer and hands‑on litigator who wants to work closely with the partners and carry real responsibility on their cases.

About the Job:

The firm defends public entities, law enforcement agencies and their officers, and employers in state and federal court, across government tort liability, civil rights, employment and general public law matters.

Here’s what the role involves:

• Handling every stage of written discovery, including meet and confer efforts and discovery motions
• Drafting law and motion work, from demurrers to motions for summary judgment
• Appearing at hearings and case management conferences
• Taking and defending depositions
• Researching and writing persuasive briefs on public entity, civil rights and employment issues
• Working directly with the partners on case strategy

The firm is looking for:

• From 3–8 years of California civil litigation experience
• Excellent writing skills, since writing is central to this practice
• Hands‑on experience with discovery, law and motion, and court hearings
• Public entity, law enforcement or employment defense experience is a plus
• A J.D. and admission to the California Bar (active and in good standing)
