Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems seeks a Project Development Engineer to design and develop HVAC mechanical and low‑voltage projects for federal sites, including SOW, cost development, and proposals.

This remote role supports the DC region with travel up to 25% and requires U.S. citizenship and eventual security clearance. The position offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience developing mechanical and low‑voltage building automation projects (MEP, HVAC, utilities)
• Ability to lead site surveys and assess facility systems
• Strong cost estimation skills (RS Means or similar)

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, scope definition and cost development for HVAC and low‑voltage control projects
• Conduct site visits and develop SOW for customer requests
• Prepare concept presentations and preliminary equipment selections
• Review RFPs/PWS and generate RFIs; develop value engineering concepts
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate with Sales
