Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee Substation construction and energization across nationwide sites. The role is fully remote with occasional travel to project sites and utility offices as needed.

Responsibilities include leading HV substation projects, coordinating with engineers and subcontractors, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring compliance with interconnection requirements and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in substation design, construction, or commissioning of HV systems.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary substation projects through full lifecycle.
• Familiarity with transformers, breakers, switchgear, grounding, protection & control, relays, SCADA.
• Licensed PE or PMP preferred; NFPA 70E knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute responsibilities of a Project Engineer with focus on substation design, construction, testing, and energization.
• Oversee LTNP and early-stage deliverables for HV and substation workstreams.
• Develop, manage, and track substation budget including procurement and construction labor.
• Create subcontractor scopes for EPC work including testing and commissioning.
• Lead substation subcontractors, RFIs, change orders, and schedule tracking.
• Coordinate utility coordination meetings on relay settings and interconnection process.
• Engage in Owner coordination meetings to communicate progress, risks, and issues.
• Oversee procurement of long-lead HV equipment and ensure safety at energized substations.
• Manage final completion punchlist and documentation.
