Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Project Detailer to perform detailed quantity takeoffs, material analysis, and constructability reviews for high-voltage substation projects.

This remote role supports preconstruction, estimating, procurement, engineering, and operations teams. You will develop BOMs, coordinate with vendors, and assist with project documentation and change management to ensure accurate budgets and successful bids.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience in electrical construction and high-voltage substations.
• Experience with utility infrastructure and industrial electrical projects.
• Proficiency with estimating and detailing tools and software.
• Ability to interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, site plans, and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Quantify major substation components including foundations, structural steel, grounding, bus systems, conduits, cable trays, terminations, and fencing.
• Develop material quantity reports and BOM summaries.
• Verify scope and identify design gaps and cost impacts.
• Develop labor units, productivity assumptions, and installation durations.
• Support estimate development for EPC, design-build, and utility substation projects.
• Develop and review construction detail drawings and project layouts.
• Interpret electrical, structural, civil, and protection & control drawings.
• Create material tracking documents and procurement packages.
• Assist with constructability reviews during preconstruction and planning.
• Coordinate drawing revisions and document control.
• Support engineering with design reviews and field revisions.
• Generate procurement-ready material lists.
