Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and compliance. The role emphasizes strategic HR leadership in a mission-driven nonprofit environment and will be performed primarily remotely with in-office needs as required.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and at least five years’ HR experience, including regulatory knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive HR experience with focus on recruitment and onboarding.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: develop recruitment strategies, manage full-cycle hiring, oversee onboarding and orientation, ensure accurate job descriptions.
• Employee Relations & Engagement: foster a positive work environment, advise managers and employees on policies, support conflict resolution.
• HR Operations: administer benefits, leave programs, HRIS, maintain confidential records, update HR policies.
• Compliance & Risk Management: ensure legal compliance, monitor nonprofit employment requirements, support safety and audits.
• Learning & Development: identify staff development, coordinate leadership programs, support performance management.
• Strategic HR Leadership: align HR with organizational goals, analyze workforce trends, contribute to planning and culture.
