Job summary

RedLine Performance Solutions seeks an HPC Scientific Applications Programmer to modernize workflows for the Unified Forecast System. You will collaborate with engineers and scientists to build tools, scripts, and interfaces that streamline model development and execution in a Linux environment.

The role emphasizes HPC programming with C++, Fortran, Python, and MPI/OpenMP, along with modern software engineering practices and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Python, shell scripting, and OO Python experience.
• MPI/OpenMP HPC environment experience.
• Background in physical sciences or mathematics with numerical modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop modern configuration managers for workflows in UFS/earth system models.
• Incorporate unit testing, CI, and agile practices in software development.
• Create tools and GUIs to support scientists and workflow setup.
• Maintain code documentation and modular workflow components.
