Job summary

Banner Health in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Health Information Management Tech (HIMS Tech) to join our Acute Care HIMS Team. The role supports importing patients PHI into Cerner, manages document imaging, and ensures regulatory compliance for medical records.

You will compile, process, and maintain patients' medical records, provide customer service to physicians and staff, and work under supervision to ensure accuracy and privacy across multiple functions.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year of experience in medical records or health information management.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Able to multitask and prioritize work.
• Strong technical skills with software applications and databases.

Responsibilities

• Release health information in accordance with policy and law.
• Review health information using EHR tools for provider completion and deficiencies.
• Provide customer service to patients, vendors, providers, and staff in person, by phone, or email.
• Perform document imaging, scanning, QC, and validation to ensure correct EMR upload.
• Maintain integrity and completion of the Electronic Medical Record across tasks.
