Job summary

Banner Health's Fallon facility seeks a HIMS Technician to maintain confidential electronic health records and support day-to-day information management tasks. You will handle release of information, document imaging, and QA for the EMR, ensuring regulatory compliance and accuracy across patient records.

The role covers on-site duties Monday through Friday in Fallon, with a focus on data integrity, chart retrieval, and coordination with care teams.

Qualifications

One or more years of post-high school education in medical records and information systems or an equivalent working knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech; multitask and prioritize.
Strong technical skills with software applications, databases, and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

Release of health information in accordance with policy and laws.
Maintain data related to deficiencies in the EMR and provider completion.
Provide customer service to patients, vendors, providers, and staff.
Perform document imaging: scanning, quality control, and validation.
Review scanned documents to maintain EMR integrity and completeness.
Assist with transcription issues and Dragon training; help with portal enrollment.
Support HIMS leadership and participate in ongoing process improvements.
