Tucson Medical Center (TMCH) seeks an HIM Technician Associate to perform indexing, scanning, and records intake in Health Information Management. The role purges microfilm, handles requests, and collects scanned material from hospital units.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED and offers a full-time day shift. You will protect patient confidentiality, maintain databases, and ensure proper routing of documents within the EHR system as part of routine duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) months of office experience preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge relevant to release of information.
• Ability to operate office equipment and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Index and file documents, identify CSN/MRN/account numbers.
• Scan and purge microfilm/media/records as needed.
• Intake records requests and collect scanned material from hospital units.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data per HIPAA.
• Update and verify data in multiple databases.
• Route documents in the electronic health record and escalate errors.
