Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an HIMS Manager to oversee department operations, budget, quality and safety, risk management and HR across multiple sites. The role requires strong leadership, staff development, and collaboration with clinicians, while guiding documentation best practices and regulatory compliance.

This is a hybrid position that supports remote work with occasional on-site requirements; candidates must reside within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health information, organizational leadership, business or related field.
• Five years of related management experience; Master’s with 1–3 years preferred.
• Applicable AHIMA, HIMSS or AHDI credentials preferred.
• RHIT or RHIA required for HIMS operations areas.
• Willingness to lead across a wide geographical area and diverse schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations and fiscal management.
• Ensure quality and service, environment of care/safety, risk management, HR management.
• Coordinate on-site and telework 24/7 operations; manage remote sites within region/state/health system.
• Promote staff education and leadership development; participate in institutional committees.
