Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Coding Editor to review coding quality alerts and billing edits for hospital, outpatient, and ambulatory encounters. You will oversee accuracy before final billing and review denials to identify improvement opportunities across the revenue cycle.

The role is fully remote with strict state eligibility and certification requirements. The candidate must have five years of acute care coding experience, completed an approved coding or HIM program, and possess or be eligible

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved coding program or be a graduate of an HIM program.
• Must have five years of coding experience in an acute care hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Verify CPT codes for complex procedures and diagnoses.
• Review coding accuracy for complex encounters and nudging for proper billing.
• Review revenue integrity edits and NCD/LCD coverage.
• Resolve invalid codes, conflicts, and missing modifiers.
• Collaborate with billing, revenue integrity, and coding teams.
• Assist in resolving appointments with HIM/Coding unbilled holds and ensure timely billing.
