Job summary

Leidos seeks a Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team solving challenges in electric transmission. Hybrid schedules are available with relocation assistance to be near Walled Lake, MI or Cranberry Township, PA for qualified candidates.

You will apply standards, perform PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE analyses, draft plans, and support bidding, construction, and environmental teams on high‑voltage overhead and underground projects for major utilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Work effectively in team environment; can also work independently.
Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities, with a focus on effective collaboration across client and project teams.

Responsibilities

Execute technical design and engineering tasks related to high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations under the guidance of Lead Engineers or Project Managers.
Perform engineering analyses, including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
Contribute to the team's continuous improvement goals by learning and applying new technical tools, AI, and automation platforms.
Actively communicate and coordinate project progress with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure awareness of and adherence to project schedule and budget.
Maintain strong technical proficiency in industry-standard software and Leidos design processes.
