Job summary

Connections Academy is seeking a certified High School Science Teacher to work from a home office in Indiana, serving students in a virtual public charter school. You will consult with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional programs using telephone, Internet, and curriculum tools.

The role involves grading, progress reporting, coordinating with parents and other teachers, and ensuring accurate records while delivering both asynchronous and synchronous

Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach High School Science in Indiana.
• Strong technology skills with Microsoft OS, MS Office, and Google Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Customer focused approach.
• High degree of flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment.
• Team player track record.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for events.
• Occasional evening hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Grade student work, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences.
• Provide asynchronous and synchronous instructional sessions.
• Review curriculum and adapt lessons to improve understanding.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure student progress and effective communication with families.
• Develop knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed course knowledge.
• Support students and families with enrichment activities and modifications to programs.
• Create and maintain a virtual school community.
• Assist with state testing administration.
• Coordinate with advisory teachers and counselors to meet goals.
• Attend field trips and community activities as needed.
