Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop and present policy-related medical cost savings opportunities for SHP. You will assess opportunities using data insights and input from subject matter experts across SHP to drive savings through policy deployment.

The role emphasizes remote work, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering impactful reimbursement policy improvements aligned with health plan goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Bachelor level degree (Preferred)
• 3 years Health plan experience or 3 years Medical coding, required
• 3 years Health plan claim auditing or appeals, preferred
• BS/BA/Advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred

Responsibilities

• Research & assessment of internal payment policies & payment solutions to identify new cost savings opportunities
• Determine strategies or solutions to achieve cost savings such as policy development, eligibility criteria & process, contract strategy, claims editing
• Establish relationships with stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives and policy development in support of health plan goals
