Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a remote- plus Environmental Safety Specialist to support Winston-Salem area facilities. You will collaborate with leadership to develop and implement programs ensuring compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local regulations, while driving sustainability initiatives and risk reduction.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three years in safety, with strong MS Office skills and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance or related field.
• Minimum three years experience in a related safety field with knowledge of EPA/OSHA/DOT requirements.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of environmental safety programs in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Develop environmental safety strategies and action plans to promote organizational sustainability.
• Coordinate sustainability efforts including pollution control, waste management, recycling and renewable energy.
• Audit, analyze and report on environmental safety performance to senior leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Identify and mitigate environmental safety risks and costs; train staff across levels.
