Job summary

Sound Physicians is seeking an Associate Compliance Coding Auditor to perform routine coding and documentation audits across hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, and telemedicine programs. The role partners with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate coding and regulatory compliance.

Candidates should bring 2–3 years of healthcare coding experience, active CPC/CCS or equivalent credentials, and strong analytical and communication skills to support ongoing auditing

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of healthcare coding experience.
• Active coding credentials such as CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, RHIT, RHIA or comparable.
• Healthcare coding experience required; direct compliance-auditing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine coding and documentation audits using established methodologies, tools, templates, and SOPs.
• Review medical record documentation for CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and other coding requirements.
• Accurately document audit findings and rationale in designated systems.
• Complete assigned audits through workflow, including finalization, communication, and education handoff.
• Escalate complex or high-risk matters to senior team members.
