Qualifications

• Associates Degree required; higher degree accepted.
• CPC certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional coding experience.
• Minimum 2 years of coding audit experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI edits.
• Experience with CMS/Medicare/MAC regulations and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct retrospective and targeted prospective compliance coding audits for professional services.
• Review medical documentation for CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM accuracy and billing requirements.
• Identify coding, documentation, and billing risks with corrective action recommendations.
• Monitor and validate remediation efforts and audit trends.
• Educate providers and staff on coding and documentation standards.
