Job summary

Optum is seeking a Solution Architect to work remotely across the United States. You will lead end-to-end architecture for healthcare platforms, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and governance.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure data flows, evaluate AI tools, and steer technology strategy for domains such as Provider, Patient, Clinical, Claims, Payer, and interoperability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of healthcare domain expertise across Provider, Patient, Clinical, Claims, Payer, Value-Based Care, Fee-for-Service, and System Interoperability
• 4+ years of healthcare technology experience
• Experience in Enterprise or Solution Architecture within complex IT environments
• Experience with healthcare standards and integration technologies (e.g., HL7, FHIR, EDI, DICOM, RIS/PACS, MDM, EHR Systems, Interface Engines)
• Experience formulating technology strategy, governance, and architecture consultation

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Solution Architecture for healthcare platforms, ensuring alignment with Optum Health Enterprise Architecture standards, technology strategy, and governance
• Provide expert Technology Consultation, Application Portfolio Management, and Vendor Management to optimize technology investments
• Design, integrate, and maintain complex systems utilizing core healthcare standards and protocols
• Evaluate AI tools and products for enterprise utilization to streamline workflows and drive continuous improvement
• Evaluate emerging trends to inform solution design and strategic innovation
• Design, develop, and deploy strategic solutions, including AI-powered ones, to address complex business challenges with responsible data use
• Establish architectural blueprints, reference models, and transition roadmaps to guide development across the ecosystem
• Partner with product owners, business analysts, and engineering leads to govern design patterns and promote technical excellence
