Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is seeking a Health Services Intake Specialist to join a call center team, handling eligibility, benefits verification, and authorization inquiries. You will document promptly, support care managers, and ensure accuracy in line with department guidelines.

The role trains for six weeks in Des Moines, IA, then offers fully remote options or hybrid arrangements based on preference. Remote eligibility may change based on business needs.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of customer or provider service experience with telephone communication and documentation.
• Experience in a production environment with production & quality metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to resolve issues while staying composed.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Comfortable in a high-volume call center environment.

Responsabilidades

• Verify member eligibility and benefits, provider participation, and network status.
• Document information received via phone, fax, or portal within JIVA accurately.
• Support Nurse Care Managers by creating episodes for services and admissions.
• Manage workload within regulatory turnaround time requirements.
• Provide accurate information using up-to-date guidelines and job aids.
• Understand regulatory standards, HIPAA, and accreditation requirements.
• Comply with internal guidelines; stay current with utilization management standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
