Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks adjunct professors to teach undergraduate Health Services courses in a blended program. The position emphasizes remote instruction with onsite presence as needed by the Program Director.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree, have teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and can engage a diverse student body. Familiarity with Canvas and current healthcare topics is preferred. Rolling applications, part-time, with salary per credit hour.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a related discipline.
• Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
• Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in health services based on course needs.
• Develop and organize course syllabi, assignments, exams, and content.
• Provide engaging instruction to online or in-person students as required.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through grading of coursework.
• Hold office hours to meet with students and provide academic support.
• Participate in college meetings and maintain communication with faculty and staff.
• Stay current with developments in the discipline and apply them to teaching.
• Follow university policies in teaching, grading, and responsibilities.
