Job summary

VCU College of Health Professions seeks adjunct professors to teach undergraduate Health Services courses in a hybrid format, with in-person classroom presence in Richmond, VA.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree or higher, have undergraduate teaching experience or strong instructional skills, and can engage diverse students while collaborating with faculty and staff in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a related discipline.
• Prior undergraduate teaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage diverse students and environments.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to commute to Richmond, VA campus.
• Commitment to respectful, professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in health services based on course needs.
• Develop and organize course syllabi, assignments, exams, and course content as needed.
• Provide engaging and effective instruction to undergraduate students in person or online, as required.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through grading of assignments, exams, and projects.
• Hold office hours to meet with students and provide academic support.
• Participate in BSHS meetings and maintain communication with faculty and staff as necessary.
• Stay current with developments in the discipline and incorporate them into course materials and teaching methods.
• Follow university policies and procedures in teaching, grading, and conducting academic responsibilities.
