Job summary

The College of Health Care Professions in the Austin area seeks an Online HITM Faculty/Coordinator to deliver and assess online HITM course content, support online students, and collaborate with the program director.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling in a remote, accelerated online environment, maintaining quality through evaluations and career services partnerships, and ensuring compliance with credentialing standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CCP credentials and related HITM experience.
• Minimum one year online teaching preferred.
• Must complete CHCP Online Faculty Orientation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Proven teaching skills from prior evaluations.
• Willing to work in accelerated online environment and respond to student questions within 24 hours, five days a week.
• Maintain a reliable ISP connection.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and facilitate online course competencies.
• Instruct classes as directed by Online HITM Program Director.
• Assist Program Director with current and prospective students.
• Assist Program Director with practicum site evaluations and work with Career Services.
• Develop, manage, teach and support HITM continuing education programs.
• Manage online classroom to optimize learning environment.
• Advise students on academic progress.
• Provide career education to prepare graduates for the marketplace.
• Encourage a culture of learning, ethics and professional development.
• Complete instructor observations and classroom evaluations.
