Smith Hanley Associates seeks a Manager Health Actuary to work remotely in the United States. The role focuses on applying a strong reserving and valuation background to health liabilities, supporting statutory and GAAP valuation processes, reserve analyses, and financial reporting for a growing Health Practice.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years actuarial experience (health preferred) with ASA certification; FSA or near-FSA is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of actuarial experience in a carrier or reinsurer with direct reserving/valuation exposure.
• ASA is required; FSA or near-FSA strongly preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support quarterly and annual reserve analyses for medical and A&H lines, including IBNR development and reserve adequacy assessments.
• Contribute to statutory, GAAP, and other financial reporting requirements, with documentation and actuarial memoranda.
• Assist with reserve reviews, regulatory examinations, and actuarial opinions.
• Support capital modeling, risk-based capital analysis, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
• Provide actuarial support for reinsurance evaluations, captive structures, and M&A due diligence engagements.
