Job summary

PowerLines in Washington, DC, with a national focus, seeks a Head of Regulatory to build and lead the organization’s Regulatory Team. This senior, hands-on role will develop and execute regulatory strategy, engage with state public utilities commissions, and guide dockets like rate cases and rulemakings.

The Head of Regulatory will lead a growing team, partner with policy and communications teams, and serve on the executive leadership team, travel 10–20% as needed.

Qualifications

• Must lead regulatory team and develop strategy.
• Experience engaging with state PUCs and regulatory dockets.
• Strong ability to build coalitions and partnerships.
• Excellent advisory and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory team and set annual strategy with OKRs.
• Engage in major utility proceedings (rate cases, rulemakings).
• Direct docket prioritization and testimony strategy.
• Build partnerships with coalition partners and consumer advocates.
• Provide technical regulatory guidance to executives and stakeholders.
• Represent PowerLines in regulatory venues and media.
