The ideal candidate has CPC/CRC certification and 2+ years in HCC coding, with strong ICD-10-CM knowledge and experience in managed care environments.

Qualifications

• CPC/CRC certification required.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in HCC coding and/or risk adjustment.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and CMS-HCC models.
• Experience with medical record review in managed care or health plan environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate HCC codes.
• Ensure proper documentation of chronic conditions and risk adjustment diagnoses per CMS guidelines.
• Conduct chart reviews to identify coding gaps and opportunities.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to clarify documentation for coding accuracy.
• Prepare and submit coding findings to support risk adjustment programs.
• Stay current with ICD-10-CM updates and payer requirements.
• Support audit processes and respond to coding queries promptly.
