Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of coding experience in Risk Adjustment (2 years preferred).
• Certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CRC) required; no CPC-A or CCA.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform code abstraction of medical records and imaging to assign ICD-10-CM codes for HCC risk adjustment.
• Identify diagnosis and chart-level impairments and opportunities for documentation improvement.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance coding goals and outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10-CM codes, CMS documentation requirements, and regulations.
• Meet minimum productivity requirements as per project terms.
• Handle other related duties as required or assigned.
