Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Haryanvi/English telephone interpreter to work from home in the United States. This independent contractor role offers flexible scheduling and training in a certified ASTM and ISO environment, with support from senior staff and help desks.

The position requires fluency in Haryanvi and English, cultural competency, and excellent listening and note-taking skills. It spans multiple industries, including healthcare, government, and 911, with advancement

Qualifications

• Fluency in Haryanvi and English with strong cultural dynamics.
• Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional/accent differences to communicate with LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills for high interpretation accuracy.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must adapt to LanguageLine Solutions technology enhancements.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Read and write the requested languages - highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor during sessions and remained calm in emergencies (e.g., 911).
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours and follow client instructions.
• Understand protocol and terminology across industries (Medical, Insurance, Finance, Law).
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity.
