Packetlabs Ltd. is seeking a Penetration Tester - Hardware to lead security assessments of embedded and IoT devices, including silicon, firmware and board layouts. You will work hands-on with devices, including opening hardware and proving attacker impact with physical access.

You will deliver actionable findings, write detailed reports, and advise practical remediations while continually improving hardware security methodologies.

Competenze

• Graduate in Information Security, Computer Science, or Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong electronics fundamentals; read schematics and datasheets to reason about boards.
• Hands-on soldering ability including surface-mount rework.
• Experience accessing debug interfaces (JTAG, SWD, UART) and extracting firmware.
• Comfort with bench instruments: logic analyzer, oscilloscope, multimeter.
• Firmware reverse-engineering skills and Python scripting; C basics for reading embedded code.
• Familiar with ARM/Cortex-M, MIPS, AVR, RISC-V architectures and RTOS basics.

Mansioni

• Plan and execute end-to-end hardware penetration tests on embedded/IoT devices.
• Identify, access, and exploit on-board debug interfaces to gain code execution or memory access.
• Extract firmware from devices and analyze it for vulnerabilities.
• Intercept and analyze data on common embedded buses using logic analyzers.
• Perform side-channel analysis and fault injection where in scope to bypass protections.
• Reverse engineer firmware to find logic flaws and secrets; assess attack surface.
• Write high-quality reports and present findings to clients; advise remediation.
• Build lab tooling and contribute to internal methodologies; stay current on hardware security.
