Job summary

TrustedSec is seeking a passionate information security professional to join our Software Security Team. The Hardware Security Consultant / Penetration Tester will report to the Practice Lead and work on hardware security assessments, including identifying vulnerabilities and delivering actionable findings.

This remote position within the United States emphasizes client-facing engagements, embedded systems, and web application security across devices and companion mobile applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years hardware security assessments.
• 2+ years web apps and APIs testing.
• Experience interfacing with debug interfaces (JTAG, SWD, UART).
• Firmware extraction/analysis experience.
• Proficiency in Ghidra or Binary Ninja.
• Experience with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth traffic.
• Burp Suite proficiency and traffic analysis.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and OWASP Testing Guide.
• Strong written/verbal communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality hardware security assessments with limited supervision.
• Produce clear reports with testing walkthroughs, findings, and actionable recommendations.
• Lead client meetings as primary contact during engagements.
• Collaborate with other teams to share knowledge and contribute to TrustedSec's security library.
• Maintain and grow cybersecurity knowledge through training and conferences.
• Review publications, write blog posts, and potentially speak at events.
