Job summary

Nuclear Energy Consultants, Inc. seeks an experienced Refueling & Remote Handling Engineer to lead design and analysis of remotely operated tools and inspection equipment for reactor refueling.

You will collaborate across engineering groups to ensure safety, reliability, and performance while guiding tool development and evaluation at client sites. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of nuclear engineering experience, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with regulatory requirements and

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of full-time, directly relevant engineering experience.
• Experience implementing engineering design processes for mechanical handling equipment and systems.
• Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Leads development of resolutions to complex problems with creativity and innovation.
• Provides and utilizes system engineering input for tooling, inspection equipment, and control systems.
• Prepares and reviews engineering reports, descriptions, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Interfaces with NSSS Component design to ensure tooling features meet requirements.
• Develops work sequences and handling plans as part of integrated tool design.
